Having previously stated our case for continued mainframe software environment suppport, don’t think that Softech does not favor the PC platform for development. Softech personnel have been involved with mainframe application development on the PC platform for over a decade. If you are not actively pursuing this, or have "bought in" to the concept and just cannot seem to get it adapt to your operating environment, give us a call.
We have proven the benefits of the PC platform and can design, code, unit test, and system test virtually any application we port from the mainframe "In Half the Time" traditional mainframers can. Although we have all become proficient in the CA-Realia development arena, we also have experience with MicroFocus COBOL as well as other PC COBOL compilers. We have been using Realia for over 13 years and we understand PC/Mainframe file and source transfer completely.
Ron Merrell is our resident expert on PC based development although we all use various other PC tools to support our development work. During Ron’s stint with TranSys, a major transaction processing interface application vendor, he utilized IBM's CICS/OS2 and IBM COBOL II for the PC to get the product to market. He has also been involved with mainframe application development in OS2, Windows (WWG), and Windows 95 platforms.
If you need information or advice on this type of development, please call or email us.
